Glen Burnie resident Cynthia Herman has been identified by investigators as the person who was killed after crashing in the early evening on Friday, Feb. 2.

According to a spokesperson from the Anne Arundel County Police Department, shortly after 7 p.m. on Friday night, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 10 North near Mountain Road in Glen Burnie, where Herman crashed her 2011 Nissan Frontier.

Investigators say that it was determined that Herman was driving in the left lane when the Nissan drove onto the left shoulder, entered the center median before re-entering the roadway and spinning across all northbound lanes.

The vehicle then went over the right shoulder, struck a culvert, rolling over and landing on its side before striking two trees and coming to a rest.

Herman suffered fatal injuries in the crash and her body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.

The crash remains under investigation.
